First Camp

Hi all I hope all is well. I am currently in Northern Poland for the first camp. I had a fun month traveling to different cities and meeting new people. The youth groups at the Polish churches are great. I have been all over the Northern side of Poland and it is a beautiful country and I can't wait for the other camps. Last week we met the Americans from Oshkosh, WI and they are a great group of high schoolers. We had their training in Krakow and the town is so old and beautiful, I will probably put the pictures up on my facebook when I get back to the house were I am staying. During the training I had to teach the Americans the camp dance which was a little scary for me but I did ok. What will be hard is in the other camps I have to teach it to the Polish campers. Before we met up with the group from Skockow we went to Auschwitz and that was an intense place, I have never felt so many different emotions at one time.
We had a 12 hour train ride through the night, I prefer airplanes instead of trains. After a the train ride we walked about a half hour to our camp and then I had to give the english tests. My brain was fried I could barely make complete sentences. The testing went by quickly with the help of Becca and Sue, the people from Oshkosh, if it wasn't for them I would not have made it through. After lunch some of the people went to the beach, but I stayed behind to place the campers in their classes and I took a nap and a shower. During the night service the interns preformed the camp dance in a unique way, we got a few laughs. After the evening program we had a dance party. It was great we went from singing worship songs together then we all danced together, we are all connecting well. Yesterday we went to the beach and we weren't far from the German border so a few of us walked to Germany. We also had a relay race because we are all in teams. We gpt third, but my group won the best cheer, GO TEAM PURPLE PANDAS. We had another great night of worship and dancing. Also people are already asking questions and stating this is the best vacation ever. That's pretty much all that's happened so far and I will let you know how the rest of the week goes. Oh I have also been watching the World Cup and sometimes in pubs which is a really cool experience. What's nice is that I have that connection with the campers. Also there is one girl who knows a lot about music, especially about bands from California so I have been talking to her a lot. Anyway I'll write when I can, I love you and miss you all.
